Spanish artist from the Canary Islands born in 1958. (Joaquín Prats)

The popular music of the Canaries & South America initiated him in the

Art of Music, learning to play the guitar by watching & listening to the

popular musicians of his island, as one learns his own mother tongue.

 

Later on,

attracted by the beauty of Western Classical Music,

he studied Classical guitar at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid

and at the University of Music of Cologne.

 

After that, he attained recognition from the public and critics

as a remarkable guitarist, recording several Cds for European Labels

and teaching Classical guitar at the Conservatory of Music of Luxembourg.

 

In 1994, he let go of

his musical career as classical performer and teacher in Luxembourg,

and started travelling Asia to explore the Eastern Art of Meditation.

Since then, his approach to MUSIC has changed into searching more a for

a MEDITATIVE experience rather than looking for professional recognition.

which brings BALANCE, HARMONY and PEACE, not just to

the musician, but also to his audience.

Married to Nepalese spouse from Nuwakot,

Sangit Prats lives in Kathmandu where he teaches Guitar

and Music at the Pathik Gyan Niketan School in Satungal.
